PetroEd® and Microsoft® will present new eLearning design strategies using the latest multimedia technology and instructional techniques in order to deliver engaging content that resonates with the visual learning styles of today’s entry-level workforce.
eLearning supports the organization’s goals of improving training costs, decreased material costs, increased material costs and standardization. eLearning is cost-effective and can produce great results. It’s all a matter of how you use it.

So, what’s new in eLearning and why should you care?

As business cycle times compress, employees require new skills almost weekly. How can you quickly deploy effective training to employees? eLearning is increasingly perceived as a source of competitive advantage for companies, especially for multinational and geographically disparate organizations. Learners access information as needed, and new skills can be applied immediately, thus reducing delays and lost productivity.
Even if your organization has no plans for eLearning this year, you should be ready for its eventual adoption and implementation. This session will help you effectively deploy your resources and enhance organizational acceptance when the time comes for eLearning.
If you are currently developing eLearning, you’ll be able to check out the latest eLearning strategies and technologies. Representatives from Microsoft® will bring the new Pro Surface tablet to show how tablet technology is being used in the workplace, schools, and day-to-day life.
Participants can expect to gain an understanding of how to:
  • Deploy eLearning and training from tablets.
  • Deploy eLearning from a PetroEd® SkillSTICK® to remote work sites with limited internet access.
  • Design and deploy eLearning programs in less than half the time of current methods.
  • Utilize technologies that support multi-language learning formats ideal for a diverse workforce

As always, ASTD Houston meetings are a great place to network and build new relationships with your peers. Networking is about making connections and building mutually beneficial relationships which are key to career development and success.
