360 degree feedback tools can be powerful instruments in self development. They may, however, be "double-edge swords," causing mistrust and hindering supervisor/subordinate relations. The presenters will discuss pros and cons of 360 degree instruments and suggest best practices.

Further, the presenters will argue for the integration of 360 degree instruments and personality infrastructure tools. Such combination allows users to consider both current performance of a competency and the natural energy they have for its development.

Participants will learn about:
• Pros and Cons of 360 degree assignments
• Best practices around the design and use of 360s
• The essential elements of an effective 360 program
• The Johari Window as a basis of the 360 Survey
• Research findings on raters and feedback
• The Human Resource Optimization Model – relating Performance and Personality Trait infrastructure
