Dear colleagues:Fall 2012 is quickly upon us! Soon, there will be the rush of holidays and deadlines, if not already.
I'm fresh off of a series of presentations at the annual North Texas SHRM and AHRMA Conferences, and now looking toward the upcoming HR Southwest Conference where I will be delivering two strategic presentations.
I had an attendee ask me the proverbial question about "making the switch from tactical to strategic." This question always puzzles me, however. Perhaps because, as a strategist and futurist, I understand the following. Tactical is what you do. Strategic is how you think about what you do. The only "switch" that must take place is in our mindset. Little wonder, then, why so many HR professionals struggle with how to respond to an environment that requires strategy.
